The role of the Employee Relations Department within the Management
and Personnel Office is to formulate, launch and monitor policies
which improve the conditions of service of public officers
in order to foster high levels of motivation, productivity
and discipline in the Public Service. These conditions of
service include policies which grant benefits to public officers
and establish controls to monitor the use of these benefits
in a decentralised environment.
The Department acts as catalyst for gender mainstreaming
and occupational health and safety policies in the Public
Service.
In order to create a culture of integrity and excellence,
the Department also formulates guidelines on ethics and conduct
for public officers.
