The Operations and Programme Implementation Directorate, which was set up in October
2004, incorporates the Special Projects Unit, and the Boards, Committees and Customer
Care Unit. The Directorate also:

manages specific functions and projects;
-
discharges the programme implementation and customer care functions
within OPM;
-
ensures the overall co-ordination of 2007-2013 EU-funded
projects undertaken by OPM departments and entities, facilitating
the successful and timely conclusion of such projects; and
-
maintains the OPM website.
As one of its primary functions, the Operations and Programme
Implementation Directorate is currently responsible for monitoring and
co-ordinating the implementation of a Data Protection Project in the
Public Service, providing advice and assistance to Government departments
to ensure their compliance with data protection requirements.

Ms Marie-Lourdes Grech
Director (Operations and Programme Implementation)
Marie-Lourdes Grech joined the Public Service in 1971 and was posted in various
offices including Malta's embassy in Brussels and the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs. She has served at the Office of the Prime Minister since 1981.
Ms Grech was appointed Assistant
Director (Special Projects) in January 2000 and Director
(Operations and Programme Implementation) in October 2004.
