The Government Printing Press aims to provide a comprehensive
printing service to all ministries and departments of Government.
The Government Printing Press is a department with a long
history that has participated directly in historic events
in the Maltese islands through the printing of related material.
It has been printing the Government Gazette since 1813.
Formerly
sited in St James Cavalier, Valletta, the Press moved to its
present more suitable location at the Marsa Industrial Estate
in November 1995.

Director (Government Printing Press)
Carmel Sammut joined the Government Press as an apprentice
in 1968. He served in various posts within the Press until appointed Chief
Printer in 2003. He is currently Chairman of the ETC Trade Testing Board for
the printing trades. He was appointed Director (Printing Press) in February
2006.
