The Management Support Directorate is a unit within the Office of the
Principal Permanent Secretary that provides the necessary assistance and
advice to the Principal Permanent Secretary in attending to his wide range of
duties as Head of the Public Service.
The Unit co-ordinates the process of selection of candidates for headship
posts and also extends full support to the Senior Appointments Advisory
Committee which is chaired by the Principal Permanent Secretary.
The Management Support Directorate carries out research and collates data on
specific topics and, amongst other assignments, assists the Principal Permanent
Secretary in the finalisation of the annual performance appraisals of heads of departments.
The Director (Management Support) also manages the Secretariat of the
Principal Permanent Secretary, and represents and acts on behalf of the
Principal Permanent Secretary as the latter may direct.
| Ms Christine Madiona
Director (Management Support)
Christine Madiona joined the Public Service in 1982 and
has served at the Office of the Prime Minister since 1992. She served at
the Cabinet Office before moving to the Office of the Permanent Secretary
(OPM) in 1995. Ms Madiona was appointed Assistant Director (Customer Care)
in June 2003 and Director (Management Support) in July 2004.
